Last week we sat down with Neil Wood, who recently joined the Business Development team at Bis Henderson Space. Read on to learn more about his extensive experience in the logistics and supply chain industry and what brought him to Bis Henderson Space…
Welcome to your meet the team experience, Neil! Today we’d like to put you front and centre, so tell us a bit about yourself and your industry background…
Neil: With over 20 years’ experience working within the Mail, Packets and Parcels industry, I’ve spent most of my time working within Royal Mail Group, but also within the associated Down Stream Access Market getting to know companies such as Whistl and The Delivery Group. I’ve performed Sales & Operations frontline roles, working directly with customers to generate new business opportunities.
What attracted you to the role at Bis Henderson Space?
Neil: Definitely the chance to change my focus of work and the opportunity to apply my knowledge and skills directly within the supply chain and logistics industry. There’s lots of cross-over when dealing with customer focused challenges and understanding the supply chain business critical matters. It’s been an exciting couple of months working with the team and there are already some new projects coming my way, which hopefully I will be able to share more about soon.
What are you bringing to the role for your clients, prospects and/or suppliers?
Neil: A dedicated approach to finding the best warehouse solutions for our customers that absolutely meet their space needs, objectives and wider warehouse strategy where relevant. I think all of my experience thus far will definitely add value to my customers – not least by helping to further grow the Bis network of industry contacts that really help speed up turnaround times for our clients.
What do you love doing in your spare time?
Neil: I’m an avid foodie, though more aligned to Street Food rather than Fine Dining! I try to counterbalance that with my love of a hike up challenging mountains in South Wales. I love Cinema, as well as being a Manchester United supporter, and also an avid spectator at Gloucester Rugby, I’ve been a season ticket for over 30 years.
