This year the CILT are celebrating their 100th year anniversary and as part of the celebrations this year’s annual conference has transformed into the International Centenary Convention. The three day event runs from 16th – 18th June and will be held at the Midland Hotel, Manchester. We’re delighted to announce that our Operations Director, Steve Purvis and our Sales Manager, Danielle Clair will be flying the flag for Bis Henderson Space on Day 3 of the event.
This year’s theme is ‘Global Solutions to Global Challenges’ and has been specially programmed for global logistics professionals to offer a unique opportunity to share best practice, network with like-minded specialists and innovate more profitable solutions.
More on the event…
This year’s line-up will not disappoint, with a programme that focuses on the latest technological innovations, the future of the profession and how to inspire a fresh and diverse cohort of leaders. The event provides a unique opportunity to commemorate the past of logistics and transport, celebrate achievements and, most importantly, create the prosperous future for our profession. With a stellar line up of leading edge speakers the event promises a range of interactive sessions, unique site visits and tours as well as opportunities to network with like-minded peers.
The future of the industry…
Today’s supply chain industry is one of the world’s most sophisticated, vibrant, and important industries, underpinned by the very latest technology. To keep up with the gathering pace of change in the industry, the skills, capabilities and knowledge of supply chain leaders will have to be second to none.
Currently the demand for the high-calibre staff to fill these challenging roles is also projected to outstrip the supply of suitable candidates.
Bringing fresh and diverse talent in the industry is at the heart of Bis Henderson Group’s ethos – we’re committed to a number of projects to develop and inspire young talent in the industry through our connections with the Novus Trust and Think Logistics and developing both entry level talent and existing talent with leadership qualities through our Learning Academy.
The ‘B’ word space challenges…
Whilst innovation and talent are both hot topics on this year’s agenda, conversations will make an inevitable turn to the effects of Brexit on the industry – and the immediate challenges around warehouse space. As the deadline on Brexit moves back to Halloween, corporate attention turns to reassessing the balance of risk to supply chains – the levels of inventory needed to secure supply, the costs of extending contracts, and the potential horrors of trying to find well-located warehouse space.
Be sure to connect with Steve and Danielle at the event to discuss your challenges and the solutions Bis Henderson Space can offer.
